8 Ways Mass Effect Eerily Predicted The Future

7. Google Glass

Bioware

Hey, remember when Google Glass was a thing? Nope, me either. Augmented reality is a cool enough idea, but we’ve not yet reached the point where we want to wear it on our beautiful faces. Give it a couple of hundred years and we might be there.

Because what’s Garrus’ eye piece if not a super-advanced (and super-cool) version of Google Glass? Unless our man Vakarian just likes dressing up all steampunk-style, and when he’s not holding a blaster, he carries a cane and wears a homburg that matches his fancy dress monocle.

Mass Effect beat Google by six years, with the real Google Glass released in 2013. But the tech giant got it wrong, see. We won’t be using wearable AR to check out restaurant opening times; we’ll be using its augmented reality HUD to line up the perfect sniper headshot.

And that’s not the only wearable tech Mass Effect foresaw…
