9 Awesome Games You Probably Missed In 2012

2012 was a great year in terms of quality games. We played Far Cry 3, Dishonored, Call of Duty: Black Ops II, Borderlands 2, Guild Wars 2, Dark Souls - and the list goes on. However, with so much hype surrounding those great games, most of us missed a bunch of other good releases. Personally, I played games on the PC like a madman. After countless failed attempts at getting 2000+ rating in League of Legends, I switched myself to singler-player games. The result? Well, I was astonished by the quality of the games released by lesser-known companies over the course of the year. In this article, I'll be guiding you though 10 awesome games you might have missed in 2012. Warning: there are spoilers included for a high number of these games.

9. Spec Ops: The Line

To be honest, I never heard about this game until I actually bought it on Steam. Hell, I never heard about Yager before either. I really couldn't belive a company could be named like that, it sounds more like a sauce used to make turkish kebab. But hey, who am I to judge? However, this Yager company released a post-apocalyptic, third person-shooter that pretty much impressed me. The game takes us into a sandstorm devastated city of Dubai, where Cpt. Walker and his squad are trying to rescue a dude named "Konrad" for the simple fact that he saved Walker's ass back in a war. Now, this game isn't impressing in terms of graphics or gameplay. This game is impressing because it actually shows the reality of war. It shows that no matter how powerful you are, your mistakes can destroy you. Cpt. Walker isn't the bad guy from the movies. He's just a guy who has no idea what is happening with the world around him, and the only way to find out the answer is to dig deeper into the abyss. This is a whole new approach to shooters, and I truly expect Yager to deliver us more games like this.
