This year has been a great year for video games, despite more than a few disappointments. Titles like Destiny and Assassin€™s Creed Unity might have been underwhelming, but standout moments include the dynamic world of Shadow of Mordor, and the terrifying journey of Alien: Isolation. Now that the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 are well into their life cycles, publishers have been pushing hard with new releases and searching for killer exclusives. We€™ve seen some unusually bold design decisions from many AAA releases this year, reflecting developer€™s attempts to present something that feels truly €˜next-gen.€™ Sadly, the results of the more experimental decisions haven€™t always worked out as planned, often making for some particularly uncomfortable gaming moments. We€™ve also seen a number of exciting industry events this year, with tremendously important announcements at E3, Gamescom and the Tokyo Game Show. For every Final Fantasy XV reveal and Uncharted 4 trailer, there was a dozen extremely uncomfortable moments. From stuttering hosts, to unexpected technical issues, this year€™s industry shows kept up the tradition of awkwardness. This list takes a look at 9 gaming moments from this year that made everyone uncomfortable. From jarring bugs to painful livestreams, each of these entries are proof that 2014 has been one of the most uncomfortable years for gamers yet.
