Alien is an absolutely terrifying movie in its own right. And whilst it is nerve-wracking to watch, the tension is amplified when you are forced to play through the horror of encountering the quintessential Alien yourself.

The first time you see the Alien slink onscreen is genuinely horrifying. Thrusting you into Ripley's shoes brings to life the horror of the movie. There is nothing more perfectly horrible than holding your breath in a locker, whilst the Alien patrols right in front of you.

Not to mention the fact that it disappears almost randomly only to leap back onto your screen when you least expect it, resulting in the most anxious moments of the game being when the Alien isn't even on screen. Waiting, knowing that any moment, the titular monster could burst back on screen is the definition of horror.
