One of TGS 2017's coolest announcements came completely out of nowhere, with Square Enix revealing that legendary RPG Final Fantasy IX was getting a PS4 port...and would be available shortly after the Sony conference.

The port includes trophy support, remote play functionality, HD cut-scenes and auto-saves, not to mention "booster features", such as a high speed mode, a toggle for those pesky random encounters, the opportunity to master all abilities immediately and max out character levels, magic and gil, all of which made it an insta-buy for many of the franchise's fans.

While it's hardly the ground-up remake fans really want, it's still yet another excuse to play one of the PS1's most beloved titles, like you needed it.
