All The Overwatch Anniversary 2018 Skins: Ranked From Worst To Best

Happy 2nd Anniversary Overwatch!

Overwatch hosts a number of colourful events every year, ranging from Halloween to the Lunar New Year. The one constant from each of these events is a plethora of brand new skins and a host of players dying to get their hands on them. As we're closing in on the original launch date of Overwatch (24 May) it's time for the Anniversary event once again!

There are a total of eight brand new legendary skins this time, and three new epic skins. The legendaries have been distributed in a rather odd way, with newcomer Brigitte already getting a skin over series stalwarts like Winston (everyone's favourite genetically-enhanced gorilla is languishing in the skins department). At the same time, a number of heroes who received skins in the last Anniversary event have also received them here too (Symmetra, Bastion, Soldier: 76 and more). Despite the oddities however, it's a strong list all round.

The question is, which of the new skins comes out on top? There's some stiff competition to be sure, but a couple of skins pip the rest to be the best of the bunch unquestionably. Of course, it doesn't really matter which your favourite is - you need to get lucky with the loot boxes at the end of the day.

11. Bitrate Lucio

There's no reason for this skin to exist. That's a damning statement for sure, but it's accurate. Not only did Lucio receive a legendary last Anniversary with 'Jazzy', but he already has a pink recolour of his base skin! Bitrate looks almost identical to 'Roxo', released with the base game. It's lazy at best and downright pointless at worst.

The only redeeming feature of the skin is the equalizer effect on Lucio's visor and chest, but even that was done in a far superior (and more noticeable) way with his last skin (funnily enough called 'Equalizer') which he received during the Retribution event. So really, there's no reason to have this skin. It's a shame too, as players have been begging Blizzard to bring back event epic skins.

For a long time, Blizzard did away with epic skins during events, choosing instead to just release loads of legendaries. With the fan reaction to this skin being so poor (same goes for the next skin too), Blizzard might decide to return to their old ways. Epic skins can be done incredibly well - unfortunately, this is not one of them.
