Amazon Reports PS4 Pre-orders Coming In At 2,500 Per Minute!

Xbox One Ps4 A lot has gone down over the last week. We€™ve gone from Xbox One to Xbox One-Eighty, a PS3 patch has knackered thousands of systems, and Nintendo... well, they€™re just being Nintendo. But since the PS4€™s notable €˜victory€™ during E3, Amazon has reported the largest pre-order figures on their record, with Sony€™s new console selling, at its highest point, 2,500 units per minute! If that number was sustained for just one day then the console would have sold more than 3.5-million units in 24 hours, an astounding number so far before release. Many have put this success down to the slamming of since reversed Microsoft policies at E3, a move that has proven to be the console war equivalent of an atom bomb. Microsoft€™s Xbox One (eighty) sales haven€™t been quite as positive, though apparently the numbers have gone up since their reversal of policies concerning none-tradable games, DRM etc. The gaming community has not been completely forgiving of Microsoft though, with many claiming €˜the damage is already done€™. Perhaps another contributing factor to the console€™s remaining lower popularity is, now the Cloud functions have been removed, the new Xbox is essentially just a more expensive, technologically inferior version of the PS4, with many pointing out the console has no plus points over their Sony competition. In similar news, IGN reported on June 10th that the PS3 has now outsold the Xbox 360 globally (though only by one-million units). This development has surprised many in the industry, as the 360 has perpetually outsold the PS3 since the console€™s release. With the PS4 being sold at a lower price than its competitor, having free games (via PS-Plus), accommodating indie developers, and being expected to have a stronger online community, it€™s getting harder and harder to justify buying an Xbox One. Oh and there€™s also a Steam Box coming out, but nobody seems to know much about that... Which console do you intend to buy next generation? Are you settling for a Wii-U or perhaps moving over to PC gaming? Share in the comments.
