The future of the L.A. Noire franchise could be in doubt after news today broke that Rockstar Games has decided it will not work with Team Bondi on future games. Team Bondi, the makers of L.A. Noire have been surrounded by controversy ever since the period gangster game shipped, most recently with accusations of poor working conditions during the making of the game and now Rockstar dumping Team Bondi the future is uncertain for any follow up games. Rockstar published the game and provided a huge marketing campaign for Team Bondi and L.A. Noire. Simply put, Rockstar was a major reason this game released. According to the report, over the course of making the game a friction developed between Rockstar and Team Bondi over creative differences on the project. Rockstar was hoping to turn Team Bondi into another satellite branch of Rockstar Games, similar to Rockstar San Diego who created the great Red Dead Redemption last year. L.A. Noire took seven rocky years to build. However a sequel would be much easier to produce because the facial technology and game engine have already been created. So a sequel could be conceivably be made within two or three years but now Team Bondi will need to find a new publisher for their next game/ This is all very disappointing, L.A. Noire is one of my favorite games of the year flaws included and we were very much looking forward to the follow-up.
