Arkham Origins: Mad Hatter Revealed As New Villain

Mad Hatter The current issue of Official Xbox Magazine has revealed Mad Hatter, aka Jarvis Tech, as the antagonist facing Batman once again in the upcoming title Arkham Origins, due out for release this October. While not one of the eight assassins, Jarvis will appear in the Most Wanted side missions where he€™ll have his own extended plot rather than being shoe-horned into the main story. His missions will be a sort of mix between the Riddler hostage levels of City and the Scarecrow missions of Asylum, putting players in a hallucinogenic world where they€™ll have to use all their skills to escape an array of death traps. Examples of what will be faced in these levels include fighting rabbit-masked thugs, electrified floor panels, and errr... rowing a raft across a river of tea, apparently. Arkham City turned Hatter from a silly D-list bad guy into a sinister, realistic, and pretty exciting enemy, portraying him as a genius who becomes obsessed with women and then murders them once he realises they aren€™t €˜Alice€™ (I€™m enough of a nerd to explain the psychology behind that, but let€™s stick to the matter at hand). Unfortunately he was only given one level in the previous game, though it clearly left enough of an impression with the audience for Warner Bros. Montreal to think he was worth further exploration. We don€™t yet know if Peter MacNicol, who brought life to the character with his superb performance in Arkham City, will be returning to the Hatter role in Origins, though that information will hopefully be released soon. The only other antagonist confirmed to be part of the Most Wanted side-missions is Anarky. Arkham Origins will be released worldwide this October on PS3, Xbox 360, and Wii U (minus the multiplayer).
