Assassin's Creed Origins: 10 Past Mistakes Ubisoft Can't Repeat

8. No Relying On Abilities And Powers To Coast Through Levels

In previous Assassin's Creed games you could basically complete missions with your eyes closed. Relying on eagle vision to get a handle on an area, you could either blend in crowds, take to the rooftops or move from cover to cover before assassinating your target, and after a couple hours of repeating the same tactics over and over again, nothing posed a challenge.

Not to mention that even if you did get in trouble, you could rely on a wealth of abilities to help you out. Smoke bombs were essentially get-out-of-jail-free cards that let you quickly escape an area, while the ability to call in allies meant you didn't even have to swing a blade if you didn't want to.

Going forward however, these abilities should facilitate different tactics and playstyles rather than contributing to a more mundane form of gameplay. The sequel can't let its new abilities become over-powered, and should instead try to actually make players think about how they're going to accomplish a specific mission.
