With the dust now settling from the release of the third full Assassin’s Creed title, already we’re looking ahead to what’s in store for the fate of the time spanning action adventure series. With three unique historical periods already fully explored (although I imagine we’ll be seeing more from Revolutionary America before we’re fully ready to move on), the question arises: what happens next
As it stands, Desmond’s life is in the balance although you’d be a fool to think he’s possessed his last ancestor just yet. No, it’s already been confirmed that Ubisoft are straight back to the drawing board; it looks like the franchise hasn’t even begun to approach its final hour in the sun. So, just what do we want from a fourth title?
Well, that’s what I’m musing over today. So, without much more intro chatter from me, let’s get to it shall we?
10. Co-Op Campaign
Everything about Assassin’s Creed screams singleplayer, which is why it was so surprising when competitive online multiplayer was introduced to the series in AC: Brotherhood. If you ask me, the only logical next step is the inclusion of Co-Op gameplay. You might think this sounds like a pipe dream, but according to several sources online, Ubisoft recently sent out a consumer survey asking what fans wanted to see from AC 4 and one of the things that was requested most of all was the inclusion of a co-op campaign. They’re now reportedly considering the possibility.
Which is good news! Competitive multiplayer added whole new dimensions to the series and I can only image that the inclusion of co-op would do so yet again. And what could be more fun than slicing and dicing your way around a historical setting with a buddy in tow?

Assassins Creed 4 must be set in World War II. The posibilities are unlimited!
Did you actually finish the game?
Pretty obvious he didn’t or he’d know Desmond will not be getting off his ass anytime soon.
It should be the Civil War or something with pirates.
No CO OP
We’ll never see an AC game set entirely in the modern day but a reckon it’d be a good idea to have a modern day map so u can exit the animus and carry out missions in the modern day that’ll give the player more to do exploring 2 different time settings
It would be cool to see more customization options for your assassin recruits, there were a few limited options before but AC3 got rid of them.
For me well i’d say that whether they continue to experiment with connor then they have to bring up something good or if it is the IV then it should be Desmond i am not saying i want this series to end anytime soon but according to the difference in their time every 2-3 centuries the story continue so i’d expect a modern age with Desmond as the Final Assassin whether they Extend his story to 2-3 games or it ends in one game but it Should be Desmond
@Kash: Man you got to complete the AC3 before commenting on this topic. If you had completed AC3 then you would know why Desmond can’t be final assassin.
Ac4 should be set in the modern day. With a create a character like thing with rpg elements. That would seamlessly fit the co-op in. Plus that would be the perfect continuation.
But for all we know, Desmond will be saved by Minerva and put back in the revelations like coma.. This time with the objective of finding out how to stop juno. With the ancestor probably being in the precursor era. And forming the assassins for the first time ever when the precursors start experimenting with mind control.
So you want a game that isn’t Assassin’s creed? You do know that Ezio and Altair were completely different right? Or that Desmond died? Did you know that the game was actually about history? Not modern day? And who is this ‘we?’ I certainly don’t hope to lose what’s at the core of the game. Did you ever think the characters have similarities because they are Desmond’s relatives? You basically want to take out the history, the depth of character and the complex landscape so you can run on roofs and miss the actual beauty of the towns and people from those times… Please don’t say ‘we.’ You’re totally alone. I’m hoping for WW2 so I can off Hitler and see Poland, Germany, Russia, Austria etc at that time.
most ur ideas are great but there are acouple of things that probaly would go well.
1. by having it all in modern day ur destroying the hole point of the game and prety much making a shoot up. by going back in time there doing things that no other game does or atleast does well therefore theres no game like it. but to go back in time they should go for a setting that barely anyone knows about but still has a great history like new zealand.
2. you say the game sereis should hurry up and finish but by continuing it ur keeping people in it. i do agree that the ending should be improved on and be similar to or better than revelations but they should always have hooks/questions st the end of the game.
thanks Anthony
If you noticed in the middle of AC3, Desmond got mad at his father and told him why doesn’t he get in the animus, that Connor was his ancestor too. Well, his father is still alive and the end of AC3 was a cliff-hanger when Juno just walked away. Also, at the end of AC3 when the British are leaving back to England, Connor turned and noticed the African-Americans on display to be sold and made an odd face. That might have been a clue of AC4 taking place in the Civil War to fight for African-American freedom. And like I said, Desmond’s ancestors are his father’s too. They have the same DNA which means his father can enter the animus.
