Batman Arkham Origins: Deathstroke DLC Coming To Wii U

Deathstroke Despite the claims of Amazon and other retailers, the Wii U€™s edition of Arkham Origins will be getting the Deathstroke DLC just like on all the other consoles. A few weeks back many journalistic websites reported Nintendo€™s new console would not be getting the Batman DLC, saying that world€™s greatest assassin would only be a playable character on the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions of the game. This news was based on statements made by Amazon, yet a statement by Warner Bros Montreal has since been made that confirms these reports were false assumptions, with the Wii U confirmed to have the content as a preorder bonus. Arkham Origins will mark the Deathstroke€™s first appearance in the series, with the character set to play a big role in the game€™s plot as one of the eight assassins hired by Black Mask. The preorder DLC for the game unlocks him as a playable character in the challenge maps, similar to the Robin preorder DLC in Arkham City, along with making new maps and skins available. The DLC will doubtlessly be available as a buyable download a few weeks/months after release, as that€™s what happens with 99% of €˜exclusive€™ preorder content. Hopefully he won€™t be the only secondary character available in the game, as Arkham City provided four playables in total, including Catwoman, who actually played a part in the story rather than being restricted to challenge maps. Considering the time frame we know Robin and Nightwing won€™t be in the game, though it is possible Talia al Ghul, Batwoman, or Batgirl might be available in the story, as so far we€™ve only seen Barbara Gordon as Oracle and it could really help their sales to have a playable female character. Aside from that Deathstroke€™s inclusion really throws things up in the air as, unless he€™s a one off like the Joker in Arkham Asylum, it could mean we€™ll get to play as all of the eight assassins. That€™s pure speculation at the moment, though it would make sense for them to hold off announcing such information until closer to release, as telling us everything off the bat would leave us with little interest by the time the game actually came out.
