Batman: The Enemy Within Episode 1 Review - 7 Ups & 3 Downs

2. The Visuals & Animation Are Still Dated

It's by far the most common complaint about Telltale's games, but yes, though The Enemy Within looks a good sight better than many of the developer's other adventures, it's still hugely behind the times as far as animation and textures go.

Look, nobody's expecting Uncharted 4-level visuals, but the howlingly awful lip-sync and janky animations do detract significantly from the cinematic feel, because it's clear that these games are churned out pretty quickly without too much care being put into how they look.

Life is Strange proved just how great an episodic adventure game can look, but with Telltale being the sales juggernaut that they are even with these rudimentary graphics, they've basically got no real incentive to change things up.
