10. Ghillie Suits
This one is a personal one of mine. Where some would see it pointless, others would not and agree. Ghillie suits in Battlefield Bad Company 2 were overlooked. Only when we started to play Battlefield 3, did we suddenly miss them. They added to the overall feel of the game, made it seem more like tactical warfare. Plus, they did indeed help, if your preferred class was a sniper, you could hide in bushes and actually feel like part of the surroundings, and it gave you a hidden edge.
Sadly though, they were absent from Battlefield 3. Instead we have soldiers and look as though they ran out the house in a hurry and forgot their suit. They just don’t look as classic as snipers in Ghillie Suits. I think they should bring them back for EA’s next outing, as an option, much like camo for your soldiers. I have no reason why, just primarily they looked cool.
Your probably asking me, “Why does it matter? Most of the maps are urban or don’t require one?” This leads into my next point.

I agree with most of your suggestions. I really like the idea of updating older maps into DLC. I really miss some of those old maps.
Some other suggestions:
-be able to Drive Everything, this includes civilian vehicles. Quads for Every map.
-Better Vehicle spawn placements, Not everything stuffed at the main bases like it currenty is
-add day/night cycle, or be able to set what times to play, server side
-dynamic weather (Alborz had two different weather systems, not dynamic but cool)
-Dynamic Flag placement, instead of the same locations every time. Maybe 3 different presets.
-Replace Rush mode, or make it so that there are objectives, like destroy/defend a bridge, bunker, building.
-4 seated vehicles for the 4 man squads (can’t believe they have 3 seated buggies & jeeps currently)
-Maps with more forests
-Expand the borders more than they currently are
-helo’s that transport troops, supplies, chinook/Ch-46 sea knight
-turn off 3d map, option
-No 3D spotting
-Absolutely NO MORE KILLCAM’s
-create your own squad name
-real radio chatter sounds
-helo’s cannot cap flags
-Jet’s cannot Hover w/o stalling
-Higher Ceiling for jets
-No auto Health Regen for soldiers or vehicles (fly over runways for jet repair, like BF2)
-No Unlimited Ammo on vehicles
-sniper assisted Artillery strikes
-Binoculars for a certain class (could also eliminate the need for 3D spotting)
-Grappling hooks, zip lines (like BF2: Special Forces) these were great fun
-Controllable Drones, like BC2, give to a certain class
-No more sniping on the run, have to squat or prone to be of any use
-Better soldier voices and words they speak (currently very cheasy, and annoying)
-MOD tools !
These are some really great features you mentioned here. If only they would release mod tools, this and much more could be implemented.
Mod tools will never happen for any of the new BF games and a DICE employee actually explained why. Frostbite has a lot of highly proprietary code/content/tools (not sure the proper term) that would have to be released to everyone in order for Mod tools (or even map generators) to be able to exist. To build one so that it doesn’t violate copyright issues would be immensely time consuming and difficult, much like making a whole new game itself. Don’t hold your breath for it to happen.
I agree that it’s team work that makes a game like BF great. I loved Counter Strike for that one reason. Keep the other team in the dark by out thinking them on VOIP while being able to call someone out for a one on one knife fight on text. What makes Nuketown so much fun is the funnel points on the map which is also made Dust and Dust 2 maps in CS so fun. In CS campers were banned if it was not a team decided call. And last of all I agree with the views against comming out with a new program every 2 years, it is BS. In creating BF4 it would be great if there was never a need to make BF5! Instead just improve it every year and charge for it, come out with new theme map packs twice a year and charge for them. Let your customer base grow in a game world which has continuity.
I played CS for years, played hundreds of maps, made friends that I play with to this day. All the time we dreamed about CS being able to be like BF in its scope and design. Look at Americas Army, poor in every sense of the word in being a good game, but one thing. Teamwork. I could go on but you get the idea.
Dice do yourself and us a big favor and please listen to all of the great ideas us users have. The BF base is the best that exists, the fact that cheating is not an issue, the weapons, the game pay, the graphics are great. Call of Duty is for the people who don’t have the ability to think and will always be a haven for jerks. Give us a BF world that we can grow in year after year.
I know this is kind of late, but I was looking some things up for BF4 and found this. I agree with EVERYTHING you said Dave, but I have one more suggestion. It would be really cool if you could dive under water. Instead of just swimming on the surface, it would be really awesome if you could just swim for a couple seconds under the surface and not be spotted.
Compare BF3 to BF2. Not Bad Company. BF3 is the sequel to BF2. How can you make this article and not play all the Battlefield games? Misinformed and uneducated journalism at its best.
1. Commander
2. Bigger squad size
3. More caps on maps, more dynamic maps
4. More vehicles PER MAP
5. Ghillie suits (GHILLIE SUITS WERE IN BF2)
6. Commander assets
7. More factions
8. No campaign. The campaign was forgettable and horrible. Felt like a tumor. Focus all company resources on what this game was supposed to be or else you are going to lose even more customers. EA is going bankrupt, listen to the people who put your bread on the table.
9. MOD TOOLS
10. More variety
Completely agree with Angry BF2 Player, because I am in the same position that he is.
I absolutely hated battlefield 3, not because it was a bad game (it wasn’t), but because it was NOT the true sequel to battlefield 2. It has the fast paced action packed shooting similar to call of duty, not the strategic warfare that battlefield 2 had.
The article author calls himself a BF veteran and has yet to play battlefield two, the game that bf3/bc2 was supposed to be based off of, but fell short.
I am also in full agreement here!
Completely agree. How can the author possibly be an ‘avid’ BF fan when he has never played BF2, 1942 or Desert Combat.
Bad Company is a poor update to Battlefield 2 that stripped out the essence of what the Battlefield franchise was and BF3 is no better.
Like the man said, BF3 should have been the sequel to BF2 not the Bad Company games.
i agree with your comments, i think if bf4 had all the features it would be a far superiour fps game than any other (already is)however i think driving civilian vehicles would be messy and destroy the flow of the game to make it more hit and run type deal unless they made them to be easily desteroyed so they can only be used to transport ypu and your squad
I am with you, although you said almost everything I think that battlefield 4 needs two things from bad company 2 the UAV and the hardcore mode..;)
THE MARINES NEED TO BE IN IT BEING MARINES KICKS ASS!!!!!!!!
Almost forgot the most important.
MOD Tools !

I dont supply the picture for the cover, I think im able to but im not sure.
“Being an avid Battlefield fan, I’ve played Bad Company 1 and 2, as well as 1943″
so, none of the old classics then? shame, they were much better than anything after 2142.
more team play? seriously? they have done their best to kill it off. squad leaders are almost pointless now, when they used to be your prized asset. keep the SL alive at all costs as he was your spawn beacon.
i also have regen health. it’s great for lone wolves but lonewolves kill the game since its supposed to be a teamwork orientated game, which it isnt now. its dumbed itself down to the COD brainless masses now.
Dice listen? now, you are taking the pee. they removed key features and things like commander than most of the community wanted back in.
IMO they should keep bad company for the casual gamers and battlefield for the old school team shooter FPS guys.
they seem to have done their best to piss off the PC crowd who made dice, without them dice would be nothing.
ghillie suits are for moron snipers. its recon, not sniper class. i would happily remove snipers rifles and rockets (anti personel anyway) as they offer nothing, just promote camping and kill teamwork.
“My favourite is probably Operation Metro” – killed any cred now. its the least BF style map there is.
6 man squads were much better fun. shame about limiting to 4. bf2142 had titan mode which pissed all over any other mode they have done. such a shame to see it go.
“More Players, Bigger Maps” – get a PC :)
Well I find most of your slaws just like my friend to be honest. Im not an expert at it and these are my opinions.
Snipers and rockets offer a lot of opportunities, you just have to know how to use them, which you probably do not.
I think your comparing it a bit too much to CoD, when I only mildly did. Operation Metro is a great map, the game labels Battlefield, which can be all manner of things. Its not least styled, its just a new form of Battlefield. If something like WW3 happened, it wouldn’t all be out in the desert. Just look at Syria, thats in the streets and all around the city. Operations Metro is in the city and the metro realistically is a good place to corner a force into.
Battlefield 3 is a fantastic game, and teamwork is one of the outstanding features, but I can tell you probably like to go alone, which is fine but to be honest, is nothing compared to a full talking squad, one of which me and three other friends play in.
To be honest, its your opinion, but it seems as though you came from CoD and are comparing every fact, and plus maybe the older BF were better received, but they were VERY basic. If you stick on team VOIP, its a great experience in my opinion.
You disagree with most of my points, I see big flaws in most of yours, it seems like you haven’t played BF3 at all actually, just the older games.
eh?
you missed the point of my posts completely.
i hate lone wolves and snipers. BF is a team based shooter at its core, well, it was. now its just lots of people doing their own thing. teamwork is now useless compared to BF2 and BF2142 (not BC2, that was the start of the downward spiral)
sniping also used to require skill. not any more. any old noob can rack up mega kills hiding in a bush.
im all for close combat but metro was just for point harvesting.
i havent played cod since the 90s. you missed the point again. im saying that BF used to be a team based objective based shooter. focussing primarily on teamwork. these days BF is trying to be more like COD, which i dont want.
i did play BF3 for a while but it was just a mess. i like BF for the teamwork, which went AWOL after BF2142. BF as it used to be, is dead.
maybe if you played the old games you would realise how crap the new game is.
Nick you missed his point completely. I’m not sure where you get off saying that BF3 has “outstanding” teamplay features. I has zero teamplay features at all. No commander, no squad voip, spawn on any person, this is crap.
The giving attack orders system is stupid beyond belief, you can’t set waypoints, no coordination with the rest of the team, the list goes on of stuff that was in the BF2 series that was left out.
Why would I want to have team VOIP? The vast majority of FPS players would use team voip to be as annoying as they could. BF2 was bad enough but at least you could mute the individual or leave the squad.
Your response to liamt is baffling as you seem to ignore all of his points.
I like this part of the discussion here, a bunch of true Battlefield fans voicing there opinions which many of haven’t been heard. The poster Nick, you have absolutely no idea what you missed out on and have no idea what the Battlefield franchise grew up on. I knew even before I read the post that this was going to be a recent Battlefield player since most of the real community gave up.
Right now this game is run by players that played CoD and got fed up with the repetitive gameplay. Switched over to Battlefield and thought it was a good change, unfortunately DICE decided to lure CoD fans to a better version of Bad Company 2, in the end destroying the original community’s interest.
It’s disappointing that most of these comments will never be seen or heard because meanwhile DICE is busy, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zk9INOq4Wyc
Hopefully though we could see BF4 as a new beginning, but most likely not.
Teamwork in BF3 is non existent for the most part. BF3 fantastic? Really? Metro? ROFL you loose all credibility for that. Metro is pure stat padding.
You didnt play BF2 so you have no idea what you are talking about with regard to teamwork. Bad Company does not compare well as it really had no teamwork to speak of. It was not BF2 and not BF3. BF3 was supposed to be the followup to BF2 but left out the things that made BF2 a great game.
BF2 had Squad VOIP, Commander, Artillery and supply drops. BF3… nothing. I fully expect BF4 to worse than BF3. And yeah Ghillie suits rofl that will make BF4 the best most funnest game ever in the history of games lol.
EA/Dice killed the game and releasing BF4 will not make things better. In fact they have done nothing but make BF3 worse than it was at release with constant nerfs to everything. I’d settle for BF2 with the updated graphics and destruction from BF3. That’d be a game I’d pay for.
I agree with most of you opinions although i dont understand why you think snipers rifles shouldnt be in the game.
Snipers are a great asset in teamwork and in the right hands it can be the most important role in a squad.
Now any real sniper that has any idea of what “teamwork” is,they can be the squad’s best friend.A sniper can alert their squad of any enemies they may come across allowing the squad to act accordingly and wipe out the enemy with as little trouble as possible. They can also take out any threats to the team that they cannot do so themselves.
Being a sniper myself who takes great pride in my ability to cover my team I find lonewolves to be idiots.I also do hate it when people use a sniper and only care about getting kills and not their team. But i believe that taking snipers out of the game completly is unfair to the few real snipers that are out there.
Ghille suits can also be a great asset to a sniper.I understand that ghillie suits are the most useless thing in an urban map however they can your best friend in any type of forest, jungle, and even snow maps, its a shame BF3 doesn’t have any.
And yes i have played the older BF games which i loved throughout my life and still do.I do agree that teamwork was alot better back then,But that doesnt mean its is absent from the newer ones.
If you actaully gave the newer ones a better chance and took a good long look at the real players who actaully try at the game and try to work together you may have a better outlook on the games.
i always thaught it might be fu to have a ccross platform multyplayer where PS3 and 360 players could play with or against each other.
Would be interesting, but doubtful. Its more the console than what DICE could do.
However, at the moment through battlelog, they are having a community challenge to see who can get the most kills or so for a new dog tag, between PC, PS3 and XBOX.
i agree with nick awesome idea
I think they should add a theatre mode that way if we wanna show or freinds some good footage we do not need to buy a tv dvr and post it on youtube
Yeah, I didn’t think of that actually. Mind you, if you have a PC, screen capturing is a lot better. I can think of better games to put theatre mode into though.
BF2, in 2005, had BattleRecorder. The original theater mode. Why did they remove it? I have no clue
I agreed with everything you said!
I want to add a commander mode and bigger squads. Sometimes 4 man is not enough so it should be at least 6.
LOVE BATTLEFIELD ( PS3 ) FUGG COD FRANCHISE
I have a family member with a CAR-15 HBAR that he uses for hunting. It has a Trijicon ACOG scope on it. There is a plastic attachment that cost about 30 bucks that goes on the end of the scope and it looks like a mesh grill. It removes scope reflection/glare….. the military uses the same thing and I know this is a game and things have to be balanced to be fair and not have people die CONSTANTLY but why isn’t this an option as one of the weapon addons?
The counter argument is “Snipers will then be easily hidden and base rape infanty”… Yes, that is correct – if the other team isn’t playing like they should. We have this thing called a MAV as recon and it’s GREAT at finding where infanty hide but because it’s hard to hide the real only purpose is serves is to get extra points while playing on Metro of Bazar. This would encourage more people to actually use the weapons available instead of sticking with a small subset of classes/weapons and different tactics. Some one spotting people with the MAV and Support dropping artillery on them.
This would actually open up a new group of possible achievements / bonus points. Spot assist points can be increased with the players range from you. Artillery users can get bonus points for attacking spotted soldiers from a MAV.
But mostly, I would like to be able to snipe without some one 800 yards away seeing a bright light on their screen acting as a “ENEMY SOLDIER HERE!” sign.
I definitely agree with you on having an air superiority map. Sure tanks are fun, but helicopters are way more fun. I also think its too easy to be shot down, especially with the tank destroyers in Armored Kilk. Once they lock on to you, you have to fly over half a map away to disengage. I think having a map set that air is a primary means of transportation with less ground to air support ( leave vehicle destruction more to other air vehicles) would be great. I do disagree with you on the CQ map pack. Sure, its similiar to CoD but even then its still different. It’s still more realistic and takes more strategy. I like going back to it from time to time and I think more people liked it than you think. But that’s just my opinion.
Be nice to see bots like those from 1984 but of course with improved AI. This.would make the game have a longer lasting impression on the player and would help with the problem of not having not enough players on a map.
yes i like this idea bcuz i used to own bf2 on my pc nd it was nice to know if my internet went down or i just feel like messing around there were bots. plus the bots cant yell at me being a terrible pilot lol >.<
” Medal Of Honor should be the competition, not Battlefield. ”
Unfortunately though, it’s not. In terms of sheer game size and popularity, Medal of Honor can’t compete with Call of Duty the way Battlefield can. I 100% agree that the best thing about BF3 is that it’s not COD, and I truly hope that DICE can continue to keep the game fresh, explosive, and immersive to contrast the grinding, reflexive nature of COD.
But I think if they can somehow really make this game bigger and better than BF3…they’ll start seeing some real conversion numbers from the COD fanboys who just have to be getting bored by now…right?
One one request…Ditch Battlelog web-browser log-in. This is one of the worst implemented ideas to his games in a long time.
I would like to see more fun close quarters game modes. I do like Battlefield 3 over MW3, but i do like the variety of quick game modes in COD games, Demolition, Headquarters, Drop zone etc..
I know people will say go play COD if I want this, but battlefield can have it all, the great battlefield modes and the cod type game modes, therefore no need to ever touch a COD game again. Battlefield is a better game, some people just like that quick mix of game modes. Variety is the spice of life.
I do love the mass size and game modes battlefield has to offer, but sometimes people just like that quick intense task based game modes. Playing demolition in COD, the fun of planting the bomb, the rush of disarming it but without the foolish kill streaks in COD. Headquarters is great. EA can have many game modes in Battlefield 4, if this had a greater variety of modes, id never need another COD game again.
If you want true intense combat, Battlefield is the answer, you want fast fun game modes, COD is still king. EA give us the variety you can please all.
Battlefield is a better game than COD anyday, give me a reason to never buy another COD game.
Great analysis!
Yes, you missed the most important thing that keeps BF3 Behind COD – an Elimination game mode!
The lack of this keeps BF3 from being played on the competitive scene which is the key to longevity, clans, and professional play. It’s the most frustrating and head scratching dilemma to me that BF3, which is truly superior to the recent Black Ops 2, still lacks a mode that has no respawns! Why can’t this be implemented, DICE? It makes virtually no sense at all this mode doesn’t exist. I want BF to be the undisputed leader and this mode would put it over the top!
Two to Four player split screen online play!!!!!!! Pleaseeeeeeeee……battlefield 4 would be legendary if that is included
I’am a cod player. and this year i tried bfbc2 and bf3. The reason was because i though that it had a lot of teamwork. well bfbc2 had but bf3 no. I was really disapointed. I changed from cod to bf because of destruction, vehicles and TEAMWORK, THERE SHOULD BE MORE TEAMWORK.
My opinion:
-PARKOUR, its what fps need. You can climb in real life, why not in a realistic game. it would be innovative and great.
-New Frostbite 3 (where you can destroy anything, really anything, bring the whole map down and even damage the ground. it would be great)
-Vehicles, vehicles and vehicles
-A new gamemode called “Realistic Team Deathmatch”. Everytime a game was “realistic”, it was really realistic. No health gen, destruction damage, parts of buildings flying could kill, etc
-One shot, one kill for snipers. It really pissed me off not havin cod’s sniper shots. I love the gravity effect and i think that if a game is so realistic must have one shot one kill.
-Wind effect for some maps on sniper bullets
-A great storyline. i love cod because of its story.
-Giant Servers with 128 ppl in it.
I’d love for battlefield to have an offline multiplayer mode like cod has the 4player split screen mode so that you and your friends can shoot each other on the battlefield
exactly!
First of all how is bf3 the better game? Cod had 7 million sells on its first week while bf3 had 2 million kinda says a lot don’t you think?
Bf3 is easily better. COD is like Apple…. just a cult following of the same bland thing over and over.
I agree with your suggestions. Some other suggestions to think about for the bf4:
- Require all players to be on a Squad/Team, and not allowing individuals running all over the place ambushing players (unless its a Team/Squad death match)would make the game more realistic.
- Have Squads of different sizes, like a two man Sniper Squads/Teams (shooter/spotter)that job is to provide cover or terrorize the other side.
- Squads/Teams should have specific objectives/orders that they have to carry out until there accomplished or until the orders get changed.-
- include some type of fatigue factor for the players. You can’t run or jump around forever without getting tired and slowing down. Players have unlimited stamina when their not wounded. Reaction time would be slower and more realistic.
- also enhance the defensive capabilities for the individual being attacked in a hand to hand combat.
-
I agree with you fully nick and Liam is a moron for thinking bf3 came anywhere close to cod play what’s next halo 4 was a rip off moh warfighter?
Anywho I think the air suppioriority would be so awesome and it would calm the actual game play a little more. But what I would add is a way to take vehicles off certain games to just see what would go down. Like no lav on Siene or z11 on damavand. Not always but occasionally straight infantry
it should also have local gameplay, for when you dont want to play online.
Don’t forget character customization. Visual gear , and apparel would be nice. Gender and racial choices would make your experience feel more 1st person, instead of feeling like some lab made clone model, that looks like every other soldier of your class. Alot more weapon choices, and visual damage to another player. The damage to a player idea would be very difficult, I know, but it would be a nice addition. Maybe you could limit it a little. A lasting blood stain effect, maybe. Could possibly dissipate as your character heals. My last idea would be a more intractable environment. The ability to raid n enemy squads location by kicking down a door, or maybe slowly opening it for a stealthier option. Some less war ridden maps, that don’t start off with every building looking like it’s under construction. As the battle ensues, all the damage caused to the locations should be administered by the players in the match. A game like that would 100% outsell CoD, since DICE and EA are trying to work up to that. It would be an evolution to the game that would match the realism of ArmA, if you look at it, but a little bit more fast paced.
What if we had bf3 combined with all these amazing ideas, but also combined with Planetside 2.
What about simply a multi-player function so you can have a buddy over and play online. Yeah you can always play with two separate systems but its boring as can be switching after deaths or rounds..
I agree the BF games have got worse over time. I remember playing BF2 on PC back in the day and I still remember it as one of the best games I ever played, like everything I did was part of a team effort. A big giveaway is how much emphasis a game puts on rewarding a team win over individual accomplishments. The games now seem to focus on rewarding kill numbers but in fact you can contribute very little to the team effort and still get top of a leaderboard. Some teamplay can still exist, I have rarely ended up in a cooperative team playing bfbc2 and bf3 and when you do its still an awesome game and teamworking squads will still tend to dominate cod type players but its very rare to get a squad like that. The only incentive to play as a team on these games now is some small points rewards given for support functions like repairing vehicles and healing team mates. Put more emphasis back on winning the battle and less on individual scores and people may start playing as a team again. Oh and bring back commander, how can you have eamwork without any direction, some guy setting objectives made it so much better
Oh by the way to the guy who said something like, “COD is better than BF because it sold however many million copies in the first week, how do you explain that?” that just demonstrates how many morons there are in the world, not that the game is better. I have always said let the COD players keep playing COD, I dont want them on battlefield because COD players ruin battlefield gameplay.
I love battelfield 3, im not that kind of guy who say” cod sucks” or bf3 sucks
I simply enjoy both of them, like more bf3 because is more realistic and its more tactical and with a good variation of weapons, If dice could read this it would be awsome,
-dont modify to much the next battlefield,
-make the helicopters fall more realistic and less hover
-dont even think about cheats or points busters
-more level classes
-make weapons more realistic(if they can) im not saying that i didnt liked the bf3 weapons
-make the enviroment more destructive not everithing, not all the bases but you could hurt the walls, The floor it would be cool
-make a mode that it could be like dogfights or war with only vehicles, but making this like an option not the main atraction
-more vehicles
-make you explore the maps
-bigger maps,
Missed out on mentioning Rush Mode. This is what makes the Battlefield games stand out for me.
Not everyone just wants to run around and shoot at people randomly. Having an objective that carries on to the next parts of the map almost feels like playing in Campaign.
Being attacking or defending also gives an opportunity to try out the different classes and equip them for different tasks (att/def).
i think maybe they should have some variable skins if that makes sence i agree with most of the comments above as i am a massive battlefield fan
I think in the new battlefield they should do more destruction like they did in bad company 2 everybody loved the destruction and the rpgs in bf3 didn’t even blow through a wall I’m just saying I am really a big battlefield fan and I also agree with comments above :)
More factions – Faction orientated weapons/vehicles (PLA, Euro/UK, S.Korea, Japan, Turkey etc)
I think the one thing COD got right (I know shame on me for saying the C word on a BF article) was CO-OP. If BF4 could take the survival mode from MW3 and add more Battlefield elements to it, I think that would be awesome. Maybe include enemy tanks, LAVs, jeeps, attack helicopters, mortar teams, and snipers. Just think, you and 5 friends (6 people on the bigger maps or something) on a map like Caspian Border trying to survive. Maybe add ammo and weapons creates around the map so you could actually beat the vehicles, get a better gun, or upgrade your current one. This might be stretching it a bit, but maybe have an air support cache where you could get a jet to come in and do a strafe run, or if you are pinned by a tank or sniper, have a weapon drop where you chose 2 or 3 guns/gadgets to help you out…I don’t know at least to me that sounds fun…
I think all of these suggests are great but i think bf4 should be strictly an online experience only. it would save time and effort on having to make a campaign that really olny people without internet payed attention to. i mean yea i beat the campaign a million times but how many people bought BF3 for the campaign or played one or two levels then quit because of the suspense of the online fight and it probably would hurt to put a fourth and second attachment spot for primary and secondary weapons.
If you missed something??? Are you joking, you haven’t even start…
I will start by the most important problem right now, the servers!
SERVER ABUSING PROBLEM:
- If server has any kind of rules than it must/should be marked as server with rules (so people can filter it out)
- If server has no rules, than admin should be unable to remove a player (why should they…). If there is a problem
for making room for a clan member persist, than admin should be ONLY able to REPLACE a in-game player within
the one waiting in the line (clan member)!
SERVER ABUSING PROBLEM SOLVED!
SERVER BULLET REGISTRATION PROBLEM:
- Every player should have visual ping timing to the server (REAL THINK not the non working 5-bar scale joke now)
When player selects the server, on the page ping timing should be continually updated so he can decide whatever
he will enjoy in the fair game or he will brake the fourth ps3 controller (as I did) since player (in HC) shoots the
whole mag in opponent and not only opponent s still alive, you even got killed by this same opponent… no joy playing
such unfair game… So make sure I know if I will enjoy the game on specific server or not! (we all know you could later
got problem near renting servers and complains on rented ones but, this it manageable on the right same way near server
purchase…provide costumer within realistic connection stats & let him choose…)
SERVER BULLET REGISTRATION PROBLEM SOLVED!
SERVER RULES PROBLEM:
-Noob server owner problem, you know, too many servers with no this no that, so his stats stays as nice as possible…
Make it unranked! Face it, limiting other players for your own good is nothing else but a boosting!
SERVER RULES PROBLEM SOLVED!
HARDCORE MODE PROBLEM
- When you shoot at the opponent’s head from 5m within Magnum and he stays alive within 1%… that no HC!? Make HC
adjustable (RANKED) and mark(add) servers names automatically within adjustment percentage. If I would have a “word”
inside Dice I would even go further, I would make weapons in HC adjustment stronger (& more enjoyable for exp. with
less recoil, more ammo etc…) instead of just adjusting players health.
HARDCORE MODE PROBLEM SOLVED!
There is allot more of improvement capabilities but doubt those written here will be read by any right person…so I will just stop here…
To an article author:
Concerning in-game futures I suggest that you create a site within futures requests and voting system for BF3
players…and be sure to let Dice know about the site before the core programing starts…
AllCaponne35
i dont know about you guys, but i really would like to see more character custimization. DICE should really make it to where we can change the faces and outfits of the characters for every class so it dosent look like the same 4 guys are running around on the map! That would even be a great way to fit the ghillie suit in.
I stopped reading when you said your favourite map was Metro
I agree with Andrew, customization will add loads of realism, I don’t think the recon (which everyone keeps referring to as sniper) should just be replaced by a ghillie suit but should have the choice of being a lightweight scout character as it currently is or go all out with the ghillie suit also making it an environment dependent choice.
You’ll notice that pilots now wear flight suits and helmets etc when in the cockpit but I think it would be great to see this carry on when they leave the cockpit, so if they’re shot down and escape it gives you a real sense of hunting a downed pilot. This could also be applied to tank crews so basically what i’m getting at is specialized appearances as well as the traditional class ones.
Any one remember the USMC medic from BF2? how cool did he look! proper medical back pack with insignia and helmet with goggles on top, not to mention the fact you could actually see the de-fibs on a charge unit strapped to his waist/leg.
I think that skin colour should be a player made decision rather than having one class defaulted to a different colour.
And if you really want a realistic looking squad, where’s the radio op? A class should have the appearance option of carrying a nice big back mounted radio.
Also loving the binoculars idea! would be real handy and you could actually employ sniper and spotter tactics.
Come on DICE do your thing, listen to the people!
Just to add to my above comment, with regards to customization and appearance, the default class shouldn’t be modified “to” much, the way the class characters appear is a visual identifier so for example before opening fire on a squad I can identify who is what class and prioritize targets (realism) so I know who are medic and they need to be taken out first, then the support before he gets his bi-pod up and lays me into suppression and then the engineer before he closes in or unleashes ordnance and then . . . you get stabbed by the sneaky sniper.
Classes have to have defining features but also be customizable.
I think jets need some sort of bomb dropping weapon, as well with the usual weapons for dogfights. Further from that, they could add different types of bombs, such as ones that set stuff on fire or others that blow stuff to pieces. And even just have a bomber plane (which can use multiple types of bombs), but make the team have an incentive to keep it, as with the gunship no one really cared when it blew to pieces. I like the air superiority idea, but you could even have a whole vehicle superiority idea where everyone gets a vehicle to capture one point in the map that everyone needs to capture, but the ground vehicles rely heavily on the air vehicles to defend them from, bombers, gunships and helicopters ect. I also think a great mode would be sea battles, where you have two aircrft carriers carrying jets, helicopters and other smaller boats ( such as the RHIB) and each team has to take out certain objectives on the other boat, so you could get some great sea battles from the RHIBs while the air vehicles fought above, and then bring in chinooks and UH-T Venoms to take soldiers across the water, and the main aircraft carrier can use artillery strikes and mark out threats which last longer than about 10 seconds like spotting some vehicles on BF3. Helicopter pilots and co passengers should also be able to directly communicate to each other whether there in the same squad or not. I do think a dinosaur mode would be great though, and it could end up like Day-Z for Arma 2 which is AMAZING, and you could travel into towns and cities to therefore find food and ammunition, but the threat increases as more dinosaurs live in that area. And get some better animations for when reviving, where your NPC actually turns over the player and sticks the defibrillators onto him, instead of just pressing a button si metres away from him and he gets up. And find a way to stop players reviving you in the middle of the line of fire (such as on Metro) for some quick points. How about you lose points for if your casualty dies in the first 0-20 seconds? Keep in some glitches, not like annoying ones, but glitches as in lots of friendly explosives send you flying into the air, which caused me to have so much fun at times, or how dead players sometimes go rag doll and fly around, so it stays interesting rather than an annoyance. Make towers fall down by yourself and let it create havoc for the enemy, such as collapsing the tower on Caspian border with a pile of C4 or blow up the huge building all the snipers hide on top of in Gulf of Oman. I would love to see there reactions as they try to scramble to safety as their tower falls to pieces. Make base raping dangerous for the enemy, such as from close range artillery from Base Deployments which is highly explosive and accurate, but begins to fail at long range so is not overpowered.
A good idea would be to put battlelog into the game menu so yo can access from it, which is good for Xbox and PS3 users so they dont have to go onto the computer to open it.
Finally, create huge matches for larger maps, and smaller mathces for small maps so the intensity of all maps stay the same, and Metro doesn’t become insanely intense, while on Caspian border you just walk around for thirty minutes. Since the new consoles (PS4 and 720) are coming out this year you can do this for all platforms as the processors will be stronger.I was quite dissapointed with the PS3 version where as the P version was fantastic.
Dice, I think your doing a great job with the Battlefield games, but if you take all these suggestions into account, I think you can create a game which will batter COD to a thistle. Add these with DLC’s, and then servers can be uploaded for the people who have that DLC for already made maps, but with the DLC vehicles and other things, but make that servers purpose clear.
I don’t want to be too harsh here but wanting to improve BF3 without ever playing BF2 on PC means you prob don’t have a true understanding of BF. Try being Recon when at any moment you know that an arty strike is coming unless your special forces team member c4′s the commanders UAV trailer. There’s somthing to fix right there support with c4 … what the hell is that.
Bring back the commnder and all that he had access to other than the crates and the game will likely fix itself. Not that I play core but they should also nerf health regen that’s just stupid.
I also think the bridges should be destrctable and fixable.
you’ll see alot less squads of 4 engineers too if they make that class shotgun only like it used to be.
I’m sure thiers more but this is a start and I won’t be offended by any comments to this but if you remember the Tuesday patch you have my respect.
So you have never played 1942,Vietnam, 2142 or bf2….He’s something you console kids should be scream for… 64 man servers. You will never truly get this game until you play on 64 man servers.
If this is a competition of who’s played the most battlefield games, I’ve played them all! So give it a rest. I have to agree with XXX Malice XXX though that the BF2 on PC was pretty spot on. And ChuckyTee, 64 man servers would be mind blowingly awesome, if they did that then I’d be happy to overlook everything else!
DICE should also keep their own official servers, for longer and make them more abundant so we have choice.
This is the only thing that was worth stating. It might not have for you, but I too am an avid Battlefield fan and Rent a Server DESTROYED the game for me. There were never any official servers and I cant stand playing by these stupidass rules and searching for hours for a game. They sold out on real fans for the $$$ and thats the bottom line. If they bring anything similar in BF4 I expect that they do it with a lot more thinking abut the process because like me I’m sure many die hard fans traded their games in when that update came in.
I agree with a lot of the comments made. Like BF2, there were a lot of option. But, having some lonewolf do help, think about it. You need someone to keep the other busy when your squad get’s into positioned. Sniper are good, they can scope out the area before your squad advances. Put 2 maps into one, made them bigger. It was said, add some personnel carriers with big maps. I’ve played other first person shooter games and BF2 so far for me is the best. You were able to remove the vehicles or have it all out and take your chances. Strike at Kirkand was the best map they had, they just needed to make it bigger. One of you said, have it so we can go under water for a little. I agree. In BF2 you were only able to run for a short distance pending on what you were. Some were able to go further then others. Dice should go back to BF2, have a look at it closely and then improve on it to make BF4.
But that’s only my opinion.
They don’t need to compete with Call Of Duty with Battlefield… They have the two main guys who made COD 4 and COD MW2. Respawn Entertainment. What they are working on will win EA games to beat and kill Call Of Duty.
Battlefield should be thought out carefully and more features should be added and integrate their game better. Have the battlelog in game as well as on the battlelog website. Make the game annoying for teamwork and reward more for it. So someone needs ammo, make the game yell at the ammo guy in your squad to give that person ammo and reward them well.
I agree with all comments and think they should get rid of kill cams as it really ruins gameplay for people who like to hunt campers as whoever they kill will know exactly where they are
stopped reading at “tactics being risky”
shoulda stopped reading when number 1 was a ghillie suit.
writer is one of the under 30 CODboi milk fed veal that is killing the industry. when a ghillie suit his priority 1 and tactics are admittedly questionbale the only possible reason is because you are one of those non objective attacking, sit in the back and hide like a pussy camp sniper cod bois. you guys are the reasons games of today suck.
bring back “missle crisis” from BFMC2 and watch you guys whine and bitch because you can’t get the door to open. cuz you’re all sniping.
everyone under 30 is a hot mess.
this is why we can’t have nice things.
Peace
B
I agree with alomost all that you have said. But, me personaly, would like to see the return of the AH-64 Apache Longbow and the Mi-24 Hind Gunship.
love the suggestions and I can only ope that dice listens to some of them.
I have only played BF3, in my record. Attempted to play BFBC2 but my equipment is to slow to process game graphics, not allowing me to experience the gameplay of 64 man servers. I am more of a console player anyway but the game its self in general is improving and responding to fan wants, which means they listen and also get disappointed in our results.
It just that what I want to put down is BF3 is now and possibly the best Battlefield to be compared with, it has advanced beyond measures by adding a new sniper head shot system (realistic), bullet drop-off and its class combination into four equally powered classes.
There might be problems with class balancing or weapon balancing but its just a game, which is meant to entertain and please demand. Anyway BF4 the future version I bound it is gonna fix the mistakes of BF3 and give BFBC2 fans some more similarity of BFBC2 gameplay; sensor balls…
