Black Ops 2 vs Medal Of Honour Warfighter: Which Shooter Rules 2012?

Characters

To be fair to Medal of Honour, it gets credit for trying in this department; through the game's numerous cut-scenes, we get to meet not only the soliders outside of their work life, but also their wives and children, making it all the more crushing when the bullets start flying and people die. However, the problem is that it feels really tacked on, quick to leap to the most emotionally manipulative beats, zooming in close on the cute kids' faces, and trying to force the sort of emotion that it doesn't have the depth to fully develop. Black Ops 2 goes another route, by introducing an extremely charismatic, menacing and intelligent villain who proves perhaps the most interesting of the series; Menendez is a rare villain who is actually sympathetic, given the loss that he has suffered in his life. We can therefore understand his violent motives if not approve of them, and start to finish, he seems to have a connection to us, eager not to kill us but to prove his point to the world nonetheless. By finally moving on beyond cardboard, black-and-white villains, it again has to go to Black Ops 2; the character of Menendez is nothing short of exemplary. WINNER: Black Ops 2
