WWE Hall of Famer and occasional pre-show panellist Booker T has filed a lawsuit against video game publisher Activision, alleging that an old gimmick of his was ripped off for multiplayer shooty-wooty Black Ops 4.

According to Booker, Treyarch's creation David 'Prophet' Wilkes is based on his WWA character G.I. Bro, one he later dusted off for a brief run as part of WCW's terrible Misfits in Action.

The complaint sent to court claims that the studio could have chosen to portray the Prophet character in any way, "but they chose to steal Booker T's 'G.I. Bro'".

The lawsuit provided an image depicting Booker's character as it appears in the comic G.I. Bro and the Dragon of Death, in comparison with the Prophet as seen in October 2018's Black Ops 4. It is subtitled: "There is no doubt that Defendants copied "G.I. Bro"".

The document further describes G.I. Bro as a "retired special operations soldier, fighting an enemy he thought he had finished off years before." Prophet, meanwhile, is a cybernetically advanced soldier who renews his body parts with mechanical prostheses.

Activision have provided no comment on the case.
