Bulletstorm 2 Cancelled By Epic Games

Sequel to the underwhelming, hyper-violent shooter not coming any time soon.

Epic Games officially announced that a planned sequel to Bulletstorm has been cancelled. Mike Capps the studio boss admitted that a sequel to Bulletstorm was something the studio wanted to do but felt that they needed to move in a different direction. Capps stated:
"We thought a lot about a sequel, and had done some initial development on it, but we found a project that we thought was a better fit for People Can Fly, We haven't announced that yet, but we will be announcing it pretty soon."
In addition to the cancellation, we also now know that People Can Fly, the developers of Bulletstorm are working on a new unannounced title. The original Bulletstorm was pretty well received however sales for the game were bad to say the least. Part of the problem sales wise for Bulletstorm was the poor PC port and PC pirating of the game according to Capps:
"We made a PC version of Bulletstorm, and it didn't do very well on PC and I think a lot of that was due to piracy. It wasn't the best PC port ever, sure, but also piracy was a pretty big problem."
I wasn't a huge fan of the game but I hate to see original IPs have poor sales performances and then be shelved; because every time something like this happens it just gives publishers more reason to not create new Intellectual Properties. Where any of you a big fans of the game or did you find Bulletstorm to be a little to juvenile?
