Call Of Duty: 10 Wars Activision Will NEVER Feature

10. The Russian Civil War

Russian Civil War

What Was It? The Russian Civil War took place after the Russian Revolution in November 1917. After the Soviets made massive concessions to the Germans to sign a peace treaty, France, England, Japan, Czechoslovakia & the USA attempted to help a rising tide of resentment towards the new Bolshevik government. The other nations wanted a Russia that would attempt once again to help deal with the German war menace, as well as pay off the exorbitant war debts that Imperial Russia had built up. This conflict went on for five years and led to approximately 5 million casualties and was known for the cold-hearted tactics of Leon Trotsky, the newly appointed commissar of war, who was famous for giving an order for shooting one out of every ten men that deserted. Why Would COD Never Happen Here? Well, for a start the American presence was very small- it was mainly a civil war ( the clue is in the title ). Secondly, the war did not have a good outcome for anybody who really fought in it. The Bolsheviks were attempting to retain power by any means necessary while the Whites were a hodge podge of groups most of whom had little consensus on what the new Russia would look like should they win the war. Huge amounts of famine followed and though the Bolsheviks would consolidate their power, Trotsky himself would be exiled by Stalin and a new phase of terror would begin. Overall it would just be too complex and depressing to set a Call of Duty game here.
