Call of Duty in Space Coming From NeverSoft?

Is Call of Duty heading to a gaming environment that has been visited so many times we wonder why they haven’t opened a KFC on one of the moons of Jupiter.

NeverSoft is not a hilarious title of an up-and-coming porno, but a company that Activision bought in 1999. They€˜re best known for making a complete mess out of the Tony Hawk and Guitar Hero franchises, however, NeverSoft recently announced on their website;
€œWe have moulded our team into a crack squad of eager developers ready to push the First Person Action genre in support of Activision's Call of Duty franchise."
Yes that€™s right boys and girls, it seems that Activision are going to let a company that hasn€™t released anything since 2010 develop a game for one, if not, the biggest franchise in gaming history. NeverSoft also added available jobs on their website and described the role as working on "our new FPS", which in my ocean blue eyes makes me wonder how much of a contribution Activision will actually have. However, there have been external companies such as n-Space that created DS versions of Black ops and the Modern Warfare franchise which have done extremely well, but in those cases n-Space basically downgraded the graphics and took out content which any chap with a rudimentary understand of C++ and a hammer could do. The Call of Duty franchise in my opinion seems to be that kind franchise who could release a Call of Duty My Little Pony and still hard-core FPS addicts would buy it. I do understand the appeal of selling the same idea over and over again to a mentally challenge bloke, but even Activision must be getting somewhat uninterested in their massive franchise if they€™re going to let a development team who are most known for the Tony Hawk games have a crack at it. To be honest, I think that Activision have so much faith in their stupidly loyal fan base that they just want to see what they can get away with. When Activision put an end to the Guitar Hero games in 2011, the last being Warriors of Rock, NeverSoft have been in the shadows of the video game world for quite some time. I believe that since Activision wanted to protect their investment, they threw NeverSoft a bone rather than outsourcing the COD franchise to a development team that has worked in the last few years. Adding to that ghastly fact, NeverSoft have never been the FPS experts when you look at their previous title Gun, a game that had all the charm of Dappy from N-Dubz. Little is still known about NeverSoft€™s new project bar that fact that it might be in space, a gaming environment that has been visited so many times I wonder why they haven€™t opened a KFC on one of the moons of Jupiter.
