Control: 5 Things That Stop It Being A Great Game

The world of Control is so finely crafted and well-built that it's a shame when sections of the gameplay within that world don't quite seem as finely tuned. And when you see how the ability-filled combat takes place without too many issues, its frustrating that the seemingly simpler elements of the game have more.

For example, there are Board Countermeasures (essentially mini objectives you complete for weapon and character mods) that are completely glitched and don't work at all, as well as Bureau alerts that involve no enemies spawning, and the allies you're supposed to protect standing perfectly still until the time bar fills up, leaving you wandering around the area thinking 'this isn't how this is supposed to work'.

While none of these glitches are game breaking, it's just disappointing that some of these fairly obvious issues weren't fixed before the game launched, and they're little things that break the immersion of the world you're in. A conversation between two characters loses some of its gravitas when neither character's eyebrows have rendered properly.

To Remedy's credit, it is important to note that they are fixing these issues with updates and patches.
