Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy: 10 Iconic Levels We Can't Wait To Play

9. Up The Creek

Another classic from Crash's first adventure, Up The Creek is one of the most serene and beautiful levels in the game. Minus the man-eating plants, of course.

Although it's not the most difficult or most captivating section of the first game, this upstream jungle level is one of the best thematically. The rushing water and floating leaves, combined with the signature outback inspired soundtrack, makes the journey surprisingly peaceful. For all of the hog riding, crate smashing and pit jumping that most Crash stages have, its nice to have a more laid back experience every now and again.

That said, it doesn't mean Up The Creek is boring. The water proves a constant risk to Crash - who sinks like a stone - and the man-eating plants aren't exactly friendly. Despite the laid back atmosphere of the level, the jumps from leaf to leaf and presence of enemies at every turn still make it a fun level, especially when compared to the similar river stage, Upstream.

Let's hope that water still looks beautiful in 1080p.

Jumping through portals, swinging through cities, destroying beings made of darkness and occasionally shooting a gun or two. I also write about games.
