Dark Souls Sequel in Doubt?

Creative director Hidetaka Miyazaki worries fans will not forgive the technical issues of the title to warrant a sequel.

Demon Souls and Dark Souls have been received well by both fans and game reviewers, so much so that both titles have won numerous game of the year awards. However, according to Dark Souls creative director Hidetaka Miyazaki we may not see another Dark Souls game because of technical issues in the aforementioned title. In an interview Miyazaki worries fans will not forgive From Software for these technical issues and that a Dark Souls sequel is in doubt because of it. Here is what Miyazaki had to say about the frame rate issues in Dark Souls:

"Yes, there were technical difficulties. I don€™t believe that it€™s okay to have them, but realistically speaking, it was quite a large-scale game €“ even in terms of budget and expectations. So we€™re very sorry for the trouble we€™ve caused by our processing errors and bugs from Japan. It was a title that we haven€™t really experienced in all aspects, so there were areas where we felt our technical side couldn€™t keep up with the game€™s scope, like an increasingly growing ache. I didn€™t mind the growing pains. We accept the game as it is, and that it€™s just a part of the learning curve."
Miyazaki then went on to talk about a sequel to Dark Souls:
"We don€™t even know if we€™ll have another chance. We have the confidence that we can improve from our mistakes this time and create an even better Dark world, but we don€™t know if the users will forgive us for the mistakes, so I cannot give an exact answer."
I don't know where this is coming from, because I have heard almost nobody complain about issues in Dark Souls. Compared to all the issues people are having in Skyrim, these frame rate issues in Dark Souls are just a drop in the bucket. Have any of you who have played Dark Souls had any major issues with the game because I haven't heard about these problems before? Unless there is a huge group of people angry at From Software for issues in Dark Souls I don't know about, there is no way that these few technical hiccups should prevent a Dark Souls sequel from being made.
