DARK SOULS Ships 1.5 Million Copies

It should be noted that shipped is not the same as sold, however it is a good indication of how well it is performing.

Dark Souls was a critical success from gaming journalists and fans a like and now there is some more good news for the title. From Software and Namco Bandai announced today that Dark Souls has shipped 1.5 million copies of the game worldwide. It should be noted that shipped is not the same as sold, however it is a good indication of how well it is performing. And honestly 1.5 million shipped in a matter of a few weeks is good for an extremely niche title like Dark Souls. Here is the break down of shipped by region: Japan: Released on 9/22, 370,000 shipped North America: Released on 10/4, 620,000 shipped Europe: Released on 10/7, 470,000 shipped Asia: Released on 10/18, 40,000 shipped These shipped figures are extremely promising for a franchise that started out with very little fan fare when Demon Souls was released. Now the franchise has exploded in popularity and is one of the best reviewed RPGs released this year. I haven't gotten around to the game yet because I have had so many others to catch up on, but I am really looking forward to my time with it. How many people out there have survived playing this game and did you actually enjoy it or was it a test of your gaming skills?
