Darkstalkers 4 Might Actually Happen

Rumour is the game has been in development since last year.

Now that Street Fighter X Tekken has been finished and is all ready to be shipped to eager fighting fans across the globe, news has reached us that Capcom's Yoshinori Ono has already moved on to his next project. Intriguingly the new game is apparently a brand new entry in the classic and long dormant Darkstalkers series.

According to VentureBeat speaking to an inside source, Darkstalkers 4 has been in development since last year. Technically the game is running off a modified version of the Street Fighter X Tekken engine, which in itself is a modification of the Street Fighter IV engine.

This news will undoubtedly be exciting for long term fans, many who have wanted a new entry in the series for some time now, if the internet is to be believed. The last big release in the Darkstalkers series was Darkstalkers 3, which will be getting a PSN release. Darkstalkers first launched back in 1994. It'll be nice to see a brand new game after all this time.

Are there any long time fans out there, is this something you want to see? Feel free to share your thoughts.
