9. It Keeps What Works
Many developers would simply be too arrogant to keep what works from the previous games, instead wanting to place nothing but their own unique stamp of approval on a project and ensure that they get the full thrift of credit for the potential success. Ninja Theory, however, are a little smarter and a whole lot more humble than that, keeping many of the series' iconic mainstays, such as Dante's blade Rebellion and his twin pistols, Ebony and Ivory, but simply altering other facets of the character's persona and the overall story. This also transpires through to the gameplay, which is every bit as frenetic and insanely addictive as the previous four games, but the level design, visual style, presentational elements and combat are all overhauled in ways ranging from subtle to outright bombastic. It is a game that knows its strengths, but also knows that when something isn't broken or stale, there's absolutely no need to fix it.
