Doom 3 BFG Edition Announced

All the Doom ever, in one package.

There really isn't enough Doom in our lives. I'm not talking about real life doom like economic recession and terrorists, but proper hellspawn satanic Doom. Good job Id Software has us covered then. It's been a while since their classic shooter series has crawled out of the pit, but now it's coming out in full force. All of it.

The folks over at Id have announced Doom 3: BFG Edition which at first glance has more Doom than you can wave a poorly functioning flash-light at. Doom 3: BFG will include a remastered version of Doom 3 (obviously), but it will also include Doom and Doom 2. That's all the Doom ever, in one package.

While Doom and Doom 2 are presumably going to be straight ports, Doom 3 has had quite the facelift. Along with the remastering it will come with the Resurrection of Evil expansion pack and seven new levels Id are calling the Lost Mission, both of which will add even more hours of game-play. Within the game there's a new and improved checkpoint and save system, but more importantly the flashlight problem has finally been remedied after all these years. Thanks to the armour mounted flashlight we can illuminate the doom soaked corridors and eradicate demonic sin at the same time.

Trophies/achievements and 3D will also be par for the course.
