Dragon's Lair Kinect Coming May 18th

Release date and trailer revealed for upteempth port of Don Bluth's groundbreaking game.

Originally released in 1982, Dragon€™s Lair was born into a gaming era of primitive sprites and bouncing pixels. It quickly became a groundbreaking arcade hit and astonished crowds of gamers with its detailed animation (by ex-Disney animator Don Bluth) and its unique narrative driven gameplay. Taking control of accident prone knight Dirk the Daring (not to be confused with Dirk the Diggler) the often infuriatingly difficult game had players attempting to navigate the many traps and pitfalls of Mordroc's castle in order to save the kidnapped Princess Daphne. Now, 30 years later, it€™s coming to Xbox Live Arcade, complete with Kinect functionality. Despite that fact that this will be the sixty-seventh port of Dragon€™s Lair, Digital Leisure's XBLA revamp will be playable by both traditional controller input, or with newly created motion controls if using Kinect. The port will also include a brand new co-op mode which has two players alternating between the many lives of Dirk during a single playthrough. Dragon€™s Lair might still be considered a landmark classic, but will its frustrating difficulty and simplistic trial and error gameplay still stand up even with Kinect integration ? With a release date of May 18th we don€™t have to wait long to find out. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mwzWEduxThs&feature=related Dragon€™s Lair Kinect is released on May 18th on Xbox Live Arcade.
