This year’s edition of E3 has come and gone. With this generation nearing the end of its cycle the expo wasn’t host to as many surprises or jaw dropping breaking news stories that one might associate with the biggest gaming event of the year. However that doesn’t mean nothing happened. There were a few surprises and we got a lot more info on games we already knew about. Going forward there’s plenty quality content on the way, and narrowing down the list to just ten titles was no easy task.
10. Assassin’s Creed 3
One of the most eagerly anticipated titles on the list is the third main entry to Ubisoft’s successful Assassin’s Creed franchise. We were treated some stunning game play that may turned this writer’s indifference towards the franchise into genuine excitement. We got a slew of details concerning the new more fluid yet aggressive combat, a glimpse at some of the hunting mechanics and one particularly beautiful naval sequence which brought with it a broadside of anticipation. More involved combat, the brand new colonial America setting and the gameplay dynamics and possibilities that arise from these all point to Assassin’s Creed 3 revitalising what was turning into a tired and well worn franchise.
