E3 2012: Street Fighter X Tekken To Have Cross Platform Play With Vita

Combat cross-over title coming to PS Vita with cross-platform compatibility.

Capcom have announced that we can expect to see Street Fighter X Tekken land on the PS Vita some time in the fall of this year. Perhaps what is more exciting is the prospect of cross platform play between the Vita version of the game and the console version. The cross play functionality will be accessible through a 3G or WiFi connection. All of this means that if you happen to have a friend who plays it on their PS3 and you may have picked the title up on the Vita, perhaps to get access to those exclusive characters, then you can still kick each other's asses regardless of platform, or even location. While many might not see the need to pick it up on the Vita unless they wanted to take their street fighting on the go, the Vita does add a few incentives to the package. It will have several exclusive characters such as Cole McGrath from Infamous and Pac-Man, of all people. What's more is the characters that were locked on the discs of the console versions, which subsequently saw Capcom draw a lot of flak from fans, will all be available straight off the bat. So expect the title to hit store shelves sometime after summer. We've already reviewed the game on the XBox 360, and you can read our thoughts on the cross-over fighter here.
