E3 2012: Top 15 Trailers From Day One

We bring you the very best videos from the first day of this year's event, including demos and announcement trailers...

Only one day in to this year's E3 festival and we've already been treated to a veritable feast of brand new information and material, with collective minds working in overload to process everything that has been announced so far. To try and help, and to make sure none of the best bits disappear under the pile of other excellent footage and news, we're breaking everything down for you. We're nice like that, you see. So, who were the kings of day one? Well, thanks to some seriously eye-catching demo footage, and the announcement of the mind-blowing Watch Dogs, that title has to go to Ubisoft, but you'll find that out as you travel through this article. Behold, 15 of the best and most exciting videos from Day One of this year's expo! Mentally calculate how many of these games you want to buy, I dare you - I figure if I stop eating now until 2014, I should be able to buy them all, and the required hardware. And there wasn't even space on this list for Hitman: Absolution or Playstation All-Stars Battle Royale - both of which will end up on my shelves without doubt. What follows is amid of trailers and gameplay demos from the biggest upcoming games, and some which are just plain exciting for me personally.

15. ZombiU

It seems the Wii U is going to be a lot less casual than the Wii, if this early trailer for Ubisoft's ZombiU is anything to go by. And that's a welcome development (and one that fits with the release of the Pro Controller), which will hopefully ensure a stronger market position for the new Nintendo console. http://youtu.be/8ZbsXFoCHks

14. Need For Speed: Most Wanted

Dripping adrenaline, soaked in NOS, the latest addition to the Need For Speed franchise looks like exactly what fans would want - and as one of those fans, I feel qualified to suggest as much. http://youtu.be/r9WNO__Z2Uk

13. Far Cry 3

Already shaping up to be a big deal, Far Cry's newest trailer is typically good looking, even if the multiplayer left some hacks who had the chance to play feeling slightly underwhelmed. Rather wonderfully there's something of Heart of Darkness in the insanity-muddled visuals and the apparent narrative suggestions as well, though the twist suggested in the trailer is surely no more than creative misdirection, given how costly such a leak might be at this early stage... http://youtu.be/AzHJXTrS2bA Next Up: Sony go realistic with The Last of Us and Beyond: Two Souls, and Ubisoft show off Rayman Legends Wii U gameplay...
