E3 2017: 6 Ups & 6 Downs From Sony's Conference
Downs...
6. All The Missing Games
Though Sony's conference certainly served up a ton of games, there was a general air of disappointment over the sheer number of anticipated and expected titles that no-showed the presentation.
These include Sucker Punch's new IP, The Last of Us 2, Red Dead Redemption 2, Resident Evil 2 Remake, Dreams, Death Stranding, Final Fantasy VII Remake and Kingdom Hearts III. That's without even mentioning the long-rumoured likes of Shenmue 1 & 2 Remastered, Bloodborne 2, Crash Team Racing Remake and Devil May Cry 5.
Simply, this year's show lacked the aggressive "wow" factor of the last two conferences, focusing mostly on known quantities and small surprises rather than truly mind-blowing reveals, and didn't do enough to fully capitalise on the announcements they made last year.
