E3 2018: 10 Best Things At Microsoft's Conference

Winners of E3? A distinct possibility.

Halo Infinite
Microsoft

What seemed impossible has finally been done- Microsoft has nailed a press conference.

Microsoft's E3 2018 press conference was full of interesting first-party reveals, a whole host of third-party world premieres and had an overall vibe that Microsoft were trying to be much better than we'd ever seen them before.

This is especially impressive when you consider the fact that Microsoft usually tends to be one of the more boring conferences most year. Microsoft don't tend to have a lot of surprises, especially when it comes to their first party material but this year was different.

Microsoft have had a bit of a rocky time of it lately, with Nintendo taking the lead in terms of fan service and Sony being the best sellers of this generation. This conference showed Microsoft trying their best to ease fans worries and get them excited again.

You can usually count on Microsoft to bring the third-party surprises, but this year really took that to a new high. More surprisingly was the fact that Microsoft also managed to bring a lot of first-party games too, which should ease worries that they don't have anything in store.

This year was easily the best conference that Microsoft have ever done, and here are some of the reasons why.

10. Jump Force

Halo Infinite
Bandai Namco

This was an especially shocking moment during the Microsoft conference, but the appeal of bringing together all of our favourite anime characters is massive.

Jump Force looks set to follow games like J-Stars Victory VS by uniting characters like Goku, Naruto and Luffy as they fight together. The big twist here is that these characters are fighting in our world, with locations like a snowy mountainside and New York's Time Square.

Jump Force's graphics also represent this big shift, with all of the characters having a much more realistic look to them. Naruto in particular looks especially realistic, with his hair and clothes flowing in the wind.

In terms of what the game actually is about, we don't really know. The last game to feature this many anime characters ended up being a pretty simple fighting game without much substance, so here's hoping that Jump Force ends up being something with a little more depth.
