E3 2018: 5 Ups & 5 Downs From Ubisoft's Conference

Downs...

5. That Excessive Just Dance Intro

Ubisoft got their cringe material mostly out of the way in the show's first five minutes, mercifully. Because this is a Ubisoft show, of course it had to open with an embarrassing song-and-dance performance to promote the upcoming release of the next Just Dance game, due out in October.

Though the sequence had early promise, as it opened outside the conference hall and hinted that viewers would be treated to a continuous, single-take dance that would lead inside the auditorium, there were in fact a few obvious cuts and transitions that quickly dashed those hopes.

It was nothing more than your usual wince-inducing, unnecessary nonsense, and one has to ask once again: who is this for? The audience who would actually appreciate this sure as hell doesn't watch E3, that's for sure.
