E3 2018: Fallout 76 - 7 Reasons Why It's A Huge Mistake

7. No NPCs At All?

Though confirmation of NPCs - or the lack thereof - is still yet to happen, Howard's presentation did hint that they may not feature in 76 at all. Every survivor, supposedly, will be an actual human, so how can Fallout keep the world interesting without a supporting cast?

While there's a lot to be said about the charm of Fallout's world, a lot of that charm stems from each title's cast. 4, for all its faults, had a stellar character in Nick Valentine, and New Vegas managed to make everyone forget about Matthew Perry's performance with an immaculate cast of heroes, villains, and just plain old passersby.

Compounding this glaring omission even further is the fact the game won't have the same amount of history as previous Fallouts did, with the game set just twenty years after the bombs first dropped.
