EA Sports UFC 2: 10 Highest Rated Pound-For-Pound Fighters

10. Fabricio Werdum (93)

Interestingly enough, Werdum's fighting career began after he was choked unconscious by his girlfriend's ex-boyfriend, which led him to take up Brazilian jiu-jitsu so he could defend himself effectively. He went on to become a BJJ world champion, and later made his MMA debut in 2002. He won his first fight with the same triangle choke he had previously been laid unconscious with by his girlfriend's ex-lover. The 38 year-old is currently ranked 4th in the real UFC pound-for-pound rankings, and is ranked as the number one Heavyweight on the planet. The Brazilian unified the division at UFC 188 by beating Cain Velasquez via submission against the odds. Werdum's MMA record stands at 20-5-1, with his last defeat coming back as far as 2011 when he was defeated via unanimous decision by Alistair Overeem. He will be in action once again at UFC 198 against the 33 year-old Stipe Miocic, who himself has an impressive record of 14-2. Werdum has only been stopped once in his career, and you can expect to see him prove he is the finest Heavyweight in the world once again - if he can counteract the speed advantage held by Miocic going into this bout.
