Eye Candy: MARVEL vs. CAPCOM 3 Art and Teaser

A third First Look (of sorts) in a row, though in all honesty not the freshest of announcements given that these screen-shots have been kicking around for a while now. But, with the Cap artwork leak and the Josh Holloway tease announcement, I couldn't resist sneaking in some startlingly good-looking screen-shots from the latest addition to one of the greatest Versus franchises going.

Follow the jump to see the teaser and more artwork from what Marvel is putting its name to as well as making Chris Evans into a super-soldier...

Marvel v Capcom 3 looks like a veritable techni-colour dream, and I can feel the inner dork in me polishing his joystick in readiness (just as he did when the first announcement was made some time ago).

It's been almost a decade - and a hard one at that - since predecessor Marvel v Capcom 2 was released to arcades, and the hardcore legion of fans have no doubt spent a good part of that time hoping for a third instalment that would boost the frenetic credentials up a notch. And by the look of the early artwork, the game makers have hit the nail right on the head.

Just look at it - it's like we've been lent Hunter S Thompson's "colourfully enhanced" eyes for a minute. I can honestly say, if someone came to me with a pitch for an X-Men animated feature-length with artwork that looked anything like this, I'd be lapping out of their hands before you could say "Unnecessary Reboot".

Thanks to Bloody-Disgusting for reanimating my excitement for the project.

Marvel v Capcom 3 is slated to hit the Xbox 360 and PS3 in late 2010 or early 2011 (but I'd expect a delay if I were you, as it seems to be the way these days).
