Fallout 4: 10 Characters Who Must Return

Fallout New Vegas Yes Man

The fourth Fallout game has been heavily rumoured and speculated about for a while now, with developer-publisher Bethesda continually leaving us in the lurch, hopefully a sign that they're hard at work on the game, but aren't quite ready to show it off yet. One of the big questions, alongside where the game will be set, is when? Fallout 3 was set in 2277, 200 years after the nuclear apocalypse happened, and the Obsidian-developed spin-off New Vegas took place four years later in 2081 - but what about Fallout 4? My sincere hope is that the next game follows this trend of transpiring just a few years later, as it will allow Bethesda to have characters from both games potentially return, either as fully-fledged story components, or at least in the form of wink-and-nudge cameos. The Fallout world is teeming with colourfully entertaining, memorable characters, many of whom it would be fantastic to see again. Here are 10 characters who must return for Fallout 4...

10. Three Dog (Fallout 3)

Fallout 4 D Three Dog is without question the strongest lead to go on so far, given that his voice actor, Erik Todd Dellums, teased on Twitter back in January about his possible return to the franchise, a comment that was endorsed by Bethesda themselves. Three Dog is, of course, the memorable DJ and newscaster for Galaxy News Radio station in the Capital Wasteland, who shows a sure disdain for the establishment, promoting anti-Enclave sentiments to counteract their own propaganda. In addition to this, he is aligned with Brotherhood of Steel, though does not engage in any combat throughout Fallout 3, instead staying in the GNR building for the entirety of the game (unless you kill him, in which case technician Margaret takes over, though spends most of her time mourning Three Dog). Still, with his constant commenting on your behaviour throughout the game, he was a welcome presence, and hopefully one we'll see again in F4 (given that his canonical ending was most certainly survival).
