Fallout 4: 12 Disturbing Stories & Locations You Totally Missed

10. A Raider Buries A Friend

You come across plenty of random encounters while you're out exploring the Wasteland in Fallout 4, however few are as tragic or as poignant as a scene you can stumble across near the railway line south-west from Sanctuary. If you're wandering around down there, particularly at night, you have the opportunity to come across a lone Raider kneeling over a fresh grave.

Of course, the first thing you do when you so much as glimpse a spiky, leather-clad enemy in a Bethesda game is blow their brains out. If you inspect the body afterwards however, you might live to regret your bloodthirsty decision. Surveying the area it becomes clear that the Raider was kneeling over the open grave of a fallen comrade, with a shovel dug in the ground a few feet away, implicating that the guy you just gunned down had only just finished burying his friend.

However, not only had the lone Raider lost a companion and given them a burial that few in the Commonwealth have the luxury of receiving, but a fresh, second grave is also neatly carved out right next to it. So the Raider buried his friend, but also proceeded to dig himself a second grave to use as his own, presumably because he no longer had a reason to brave the harsh world of Fallout 4 alone.
