Fallout 4: 7 Huge DLC Rumors And Possible Locations

4. Providence

One of the oldest cities in America and a place brimming with history and Lovecraftian potential, Providence would offer a welcome 'second city' to the Fallout 4 world. The city is reasonably close to Boston, so there wouldn't be a problem in giving the protagonist an excuse to go on a trip there. It's also small by comparison to Boston, so is something that could realistically fit into a DLC pack. Perhaps the strange cultish events at the Dunwich Borers quarry could lead back to the heart of the cult in Providence, with the quest even flirting with elements of the supernatural while never quite going all-out and pitting you against a giant tentacled Lovecraftian sea-beast (because it would kind of defeat the author's idea about fearing the unknown if you could blow it away with a Fat Man). Providence also has its fair share of mafia history dating back to the 1940s, so perhaps a DLC set there could pit a post-nuclear mafia as a faction - leaving it up to you whether you want to side with them or against them. Most of the Fallout 4 factions positioned themselves as being the 'good guys', so it'd be refreshing to have the option to knowingly play the bad guy for a change.
