Fallout 76 Hands-On: 8 Reasons You Should Be Worried

6. The Same Tired Inventory System

A complaint that was first made a decade ago, Fallout's Pip-Boy inventory might be a signature element of play, but boy if it isn't cumbersome.

Sadly, as Fallout 76 introduces arbitrary survival mechanics like hunger and thirst to keep track of, you now have food items, medicine etc. as part of the never-ending, all-in-one alphabetised list we've grown to hate.

As IGN noted in their playthrough, the fact there's also no pausing means you're trying to frantically navigate a list of collectibles, essential items and anything in between, sometimes all while under fire.

The whole thing is just strange, because there's an all-new, far more detailed map to use... and yet the inventory has remained on the Pip-Boy, in the exact same fashion as before.
