FIFA 13: 8 FIFA 12 Star Players You Should Consider Again

3. Diego Forlan

Long-shot expertClub: Internacional Nation: Uruguay Position: Striker Overall FIFA 13 Rating: 82 The former Manchester United striker began FIFA 12 with the improbable long-shot rating of 93 - a phenomenal score that would add a whole new dimension to any attack, and a huge chance of a pay-off - which subsequently dropped to 89 in the winter update. That was still a huge rating for such a special ability, and Forlan still suited any player who liked to test the opposition 'keeper from distance, adding more depth and options to attacks. Coupled with strong general striking skills, Forlan was a great player in FIFA 12, and a strong addition for anyone who could pry him away from Inter Milan. This year, the striker is still solidly in the 80s for most of his attributes, and his ratings make for strong reading when it comes to the majority of the key skills required to bang a few goals in. But in terms of long distance, Forlan isn't quite as accomplished in EA Sports' eyes dropping down to 85. Worth buying? He's getting on a little for a striker - which is probably why his move back to South America was a good decision - but his stats are still impressive, even if his speed isn't top notch anymore. The drop in rating for long-shots does make that lack of speed more affecting to Forlan's overall worth, but for a player looking for a proven goal-scorer at a not-astronomic price, there will be much worse options in FIFA 13 than the Uruguayan.
