The Manchester United defender enjoyed a much-improved season last term and has come on leaps and bounds over the past 12 months. Where once he was petulant and immature, and at times a liability due to his hot-headed temperament, the Brazilian is now a more composed, mature player who became an integral member of United's title-winning starting XI in 2012/13. The 23-year-old has made the right-back slot his own at Old Trafford and not since Gary Neville retired have United had quality in that department. Unfortunately, Rafael's progression at United has not been reflected in FIFA 14's rankings, with the fullback remaining on 77, his rating from last year.
