4. Attackers Nicking The Ball From Goal Kicks
One more thing that drives me up the wall with FIFA games is the fact opposition strikers would instantly nick the ball off you if you attempted to play out a short goal kick. Now, before you say that's more a case of "human error" and tell me to put more power on my goal kicks to send it toward the half way line - no it's not, and I don't want to. Nine times out of ten, when attempting to pass a goalkick to the nearest defender, he will stand still as a statue and make zero attempt to collect the ball, while the opposition would automatically run in front of them to collect the attempted pass and crash past the bewildered goalkeeper, leaving you turning the air blue, cursing at the cat and bemoaning the fact you'd just conceded such a horrifically cheap, and utterly avoidable goal. Playing the ball out to your defenders is a good way to get possession going and we shouldn't be mugged off the second we attempt to do so - either our teammates need to be more alert or the attackers need to give us an extra yard of space.
