In EA's top 100 players in FIFA 18, Casemiro was described as "the key cog that keeps Real Madrid's engine working". Remember those words, because he could be the single most important midfielder you ever buy in this year's game. The Madrid man's defensive capabilities are his greatest asset.

It may surprise some to see Casemiro rated this highly above the likes of Mahrez, Nainggolan and Hamšík, but the young Brazilian is still only 25 and therefore has years to improve his all-round skills. Again, he won't come cheap (will anyone above a 75 rating in FIFA 18?), though pay attention to that massive 85 overall rating.

With a little love and attention, that could be turned into an 89 or 90 within just a few short seasons. That's why Casemiro is a must-buy this year. Others may start with better overall stats, but they're either slightly older or don't offer up the defensive qualities Madrid's midfield star does.
