30. The Man With The Machine Gun (Final Fantasy VIII)
An upbeat battle theme that acts as a refreshing alternative to the game’s rather dull standard battle music, much like how its subject, Laguna, is a refreshing alternative to the initially dull Squall.
29. Dark Messenger (Final Fantasy IX)
A blend of different musical styles that suit the chaotic scenario of one of the game’s final boss fights, in which it is played.
28. Trisection (Final Fantasy Tactics)
One of Tactics’ many battle themes, and the best of the lot, bringing to life both the tension and determination of a battle at the same time.

I’m shocked that Cosmo Canyon from FF7 didn’t make this list, but I agree with the top 2
I must admit, I’ve never personally liked the piece, but its often rated quite highly elsewhere, so perhaps I’m missing something. I’ll agree to disagree, however.
This is an awesome list, but I’m a little sad to not see VII’s End Credits / Staff Roll. Otherwise, almost fully agreed. Makes me wanna play them all again.
what? no one winged angel in #1? well, aeris theme is still a same masterpiece like the sephiroth theme. damn… that game is so full of epicness I’m thinking of replaying it.
Hey Alex, the Reason I am fond of the Cosmo Canyon theme was because during the game play in that dungeon , Red XIII discovers the truth of his father’s bravery so it makes it a pretty cool piece, or at least it was to me.
