Final Fantasy XV: 9 Big Changes You Need To Know About

Almost a decade in development, it's a completely different beast now than 2006.

For a Final Fantasy fan, the premise of a brand new game is both exciting and terrifying in equal measure. After the last major trilogy of entries surrounding FF XIII was met with extremely mixed opinions, gamers have now turned their attention to Final Fantasy XV, hopefully the series' saviour. In development for over eight years, this game has a lot to live up to. It's looking good so far; footage shown appears to be extremely impressive with many elements that call back to older games in the franchise. On the other hand, Square Enix are taking some risks with this one; XV is throwing away some of the older games' shackles and doing its own thing. The FF games are no stranger to taking risks - every game in the series differs from the last in some way, whether it be the battle system, progression and levelling procedures or even what you can do with everyone's favourite yellow creatures, the Chocobos. But what do these changes mean for the franchise? They are - hopefully - going to be for the better but every Final Fantasy fan deserves to know the biggest changes that they can expect when XV finally is released. Here are 10 of the biggest changes you should be aware of.
