While Fire Emblem has existed for nearly 30 years, fans don't need to know every single detail to fall in love with the upcoming new title in the series.
Unlike many game or movie universes where it's all connected and you're required to follow every bit of news around the series *cough* MCU *cough* most Fire Emblem games are only loosely connected. Some games take place on the same continent with a time difference of over 1000 years, while some games are so far displaced it's laughable.
