Football Manager 2013: 10 Extremely Under Rated Premier League Players

8. Fernando Torres (Chelsea)

I know he's had a poor first full season at Chelsea which saw him score a miserable six goals in thirty-two games, however the Spaniard's talent cannot be underestimated. His finishing of 14 though is laughable, plain and simple, similarly his off the ball rating of 10 is unrealistic in my opinion. Elsewhere he does fair better, with his pace, technique and flair being fairly represented, but compared to other strikers (Andi Weimann anyone?) he is rated unfairly. Cast your mind back to his Liverpool (he scored 65 goals during his time at Liverpool) and Atletico Madridd days and you would remember a player who scored with ease, who made many an assist for his team mates. No we can't live on past glories but we need to be a trifle kind.

7. Eden Hazard (Chelsea)

Eden had a blinding season for Lille last year and rightly earnt a move to the Premier League in the form of a £31 million deal. Many though quickly cast their eyes at his stats will think he's fairly rated, however.. Those who played FM12 will note his stats are nearly identical a year on, in other words having a barnstorming season which saw him net 20 times for the French club, has had no impact on his development. He still has lowish finishing skills and composure, but you don't score that many goals by fluke or chance. Sure he does sometimes disappear during matches, but remember Ronaldo used to do that for Utd (and still for Portugal). Sure fiddle with his hidden consistency stat but pay some tribute to a lad whose really coming on leaps and bounds.
