Former Halo Developer's Bungie Next Project Revealed
Bungie's next project "Destiny" announced.
Court documents have been released detailing the next project in development from the former Halo creators Bungie. According to court records Bungie's next title will be a sci-fantasy, action shooter games with a code name of "Destiny" that is scheduled to have its first release in 2013. Then because it is Activision they will have scheduled sequels of the game to be released fall of 2015, 2017 and 2019. Again because Bungie is basically now owned by Activision news also broke about DLC for Bungie's new IP Destiny. Bungie will release four DLC packs called "Comet" that will be released "fall of 2014, 2016, 2018 and 2020." The DLC will be "compatible with the Xbox 360, Xbox 720 and the Sony PlayStation 4. The game is set to release on Xbox 360 and the the next successor console platform released by Microsoft, actually referred to in court documents as Xbox 720. Destiny is suppose to launch on the Xbox 360 in 2013 and possibly on the PS3 in 2014 after a: joint technical feasibility analysis that will determine whether the game is able to be developed for the PS3 at quality and feature parity to the Xbox 360 version.There are also some mention of the contract bonuses that Activision will pay to Bungie if certain conditions are met. For example, if Destiny gets a 90% on Gamerankings.com then Activision will pay $2.5 million bonus to Bungie. Bungie has released a statement on their official website:

See you starside in 2013."I love the fact that Activision has already set up four sequels to Destiny not even knowing if the game will be a success or not. Bungie is a big name in the gaming industry but casual fans really don't know who they are, so there are no guarantees that Destiny will sell huge considering it is a new IP. What happens if the first game bombs, then what? Activision payed a lot of money to buy Bungie's gaming rights, considering they are banking on a new IP that could easily fail sales wise this could actually end up being a very bad investment for Activision; but only time will tell.
