Gamescom 2018 has wrapped up for another year, and while the show may not have been full of megaton bombshell announcements, it did nevertheless serve up a number of neat surprises and, yes, confirm a few release dates for hotly-anticipated games.

With the sheer deluge of reveals and information, though, it's easy to lose track of everything, so after poring over the last week of gaming news, here's everything you absolutely need to know coming out of Cologne.

Though we're sure to learn more with Tokyo Game Show in a few weeks and Paris Games Week at the end of October, Gamescom put fans of several franchises out of their misery, while also revealing some tantalising new IPs and showcasing how some of 2019's most buzzed-about games are shaping up.
